Norwegians have also been immigrants. From early 20th century, a Scandinavian ghetto grew in Brooklyn, NY. The main street was called Lapskaus Boulvard, named after a poor man's beef stew - lapskaus. Today, one Scandinavian store still exists in Brooklyn, run by the Bakke family in 3rd generation.
