My African Diary
Min afrikanske dagbog
Nine-year-old Hjalmar is travelling in South Africa with his film director father and his younger brother, Simon. Hjalmar attends several schools and makes new friends. The country he sees is not the one of his dreams, populated by gentle Bushmen, but a society in the process of violent change. Hjalmar's new friends have lived half their lives under apartheid and the other half in a period where all, from beggar to president, need to find their new roles.
