The Moonshiners
Salaviinanpolttajat
The first Finnish film - The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki - was made in 1907, but was lost forever. So to mark the 100th anniversary year of Finnish independence, the film has been remade by Juho Kuosmanen in the silent film tradition. It was shot on 16mm black and white film and shown with live music and a live sound effects artist. In the film, two siblings inherit all the essentials for a good life: moonshine equipment and a pig. Business is good until a card shark arrives.
