Khao Lak

Documentary filmmaker Jens Lind escaped the tsunami in 2004 by a whisker. He was in the Thai resort of Khao Lak relaxing with his family and filming a documentary in the days before the wave struck. Khao Lak was the place in Thailand hit hardest and Lind's film turned out to be a unique document of a place that was obliterated. Lind has returned several times to document Khao Lak's transition from a quiet spot with bungalow villages to a luxury resort with fancy hotels and lavish villas.
